Our denomination

The Ridgewood congregation is part of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (www.crcna.org), a classical, evangelical Protestant denomination that is bi-national, with about three-fourths of its 1,000-plus congregations in the United States and one-fourth in Canada.  Denominational offices are in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Burlington, Ontario.

The CRCNA was originally established in 1857 by immigrants from The Netherlands, though predecessors in this area date from 1824. Today the CRCNA encompasses diverse members from many ethnic backgrounds and a growing number of new immigrants. The Ridgewood congregation is part of Classis Hudson, the CRCNA regional unit founded in 1878 that covers an area from eastern Long Island to far northwestern New Jersey.
